Sixela, you are AMAZING. You are simply unbe-fricking-lieveable. I think you've inspired a bunch of us now, to remember what we love and why we love it.

Also, this reminds me of something I was thinking about recently: the only reason a fandom or counter-culture truly develops is because of opposition.

Look at us, for example, the hardcore, punk, alt, screamo, or even emo-loving fans of ETF. There's a lot said on the site about how we're such outcasts, about how no one else at school knows how to enjoy it when BMTH suddenly bursts out of a computer's speakers during class, or about how people look at us funny for what's on our iPods.
The reason we stick together so well is because we feel alone without each other, because the people here share our interests and opinons, and because they give us support.
Every single fandom or fanbase I've ever known has had some other fandom, culture, or group that hates it openly and vehemently. Seriously, next time you think of any sort of group, look for an opposite -- you're highly likely to find one.

haha the thing about BMTH suddenly bursting out of computer speakers during school happened to me in the library before with their song "Chelsea Smile".

BluEyedFire, YOU HAVE GOTTEN MY POINT.have you ever wondered why we attract each other? it's because we know that the other person will somehow know exactly the way we feel at the exact same time. we attract not just for what's on the outside, but what's inside and that's what makes us so different from everyone else. No one is willing to see what we listen to and go through on a daily basis because it's different in the sense that it talks about human feeling. every song we sing is about a dream that became reality or a feeling or story. We are true. our songs are not all the same....we don't talk about sex and promote drug use constantly. There are reputations that have been built on that by bands in our genre but we mess up. We are not selling it. everyone of you has a different story, similar? maybe but very different. like i said before...it's the little details that make you perfect in every way. its the imperfections i will love about you. i want to be a big band on day and play on little stages. i want to play at hole in the wall venues because when i'm 25 or however old, that's where i know i will find what i always will be and what i am....ORIGINAL, DIFFERENT THAN EVERYONE OUT THERE. i told you i wanted to own a record label and i meant it. this life is everything to me because i only get to live MY dream once. and so do you...so do it. i just want to play for kids like us and do for them what the bands i love do for me now.
we are a family you guys, embrace that and take advantage of that. when you just can't talk to someone else...talk to us. we will be here. "in the physical" is just a phrase. our minds are what bond us, not how we look. your responses have made me find a certain respect in you that i have never found in another forum. i would never just say that. by now you should know that. i literally love this forum.Heart
there is a song by Hollywood Undead that is perfect for what we have all been here talking about. it's called young. Read these lyrics even if you don't like that band and if not because you want to then for this forum and because you are willing to hear me out.
We are young,
But we have heart,
Born in this world as it all falls apart.
We are strong,
But we don`t belong,
Born in this world as it all falls apart.

I see the children in the rain, like the parade before the pain,
I see the love, I see the hate, I see this world that we can make.
I see the life, I see the sky, give it up to see you fly,
Yes we wave this flag of hatred, but you`re the ones who made it.
I see the beauty of all our lives, passing right before my eyes,
I hear the hate in all your words, all the words to make us hurt.
We get so sick, we`re so sick, we never wanted all this,
Medication for the kids, with no reason to live.

So we march to the drums, of the damned as we come,
Watch it burn in the sun,
We are numb...

We are young,
But we have heart,
Born in this world as it all falls apart.
We are strong,
But we don`t belong,
Born in this world as it all falls apart.

As we walk among the shadows, in the streets, these fields of battle,
Take it up we wear the mantle, raise your hands, the burning candle.
Hear us whisper in the dark, in the rain you see the spark,
Feel the beating of our hearts, fleeting hope as we depart.
All together walk alone against, all we've ever known,
All we've ever really wanted was a place to call our home.

But you take all we are, the innocence of our hearts,
Made to kneel before the alter as you tear us apart.

So we march to the drums, of the damned as we come,
Watch it burn in the sun,
We are numb...

We will fight, or we will fall,
Till the angels save us all

We will fight, or we will fall,
Till the angels save us all

We will fight, or we will fall,
Till the angels save us all

We will fight, or we will fall,
Till the angels save us all

We are young,
But we have heart,
Born in this world as it all falls apart.
We are strong,
But we don`t belong,
Born in this world as it all falls apart.

We are young,
But we have heart,
Born in this world as it all falls apart.
We are strong,
But we don`t belong,
Born in this world as it all falls apart.

RE: Harder Than You Know
Harder than you know honestly is the most amazing song i've ever heard. It has sooo many meanings for everyone. I really dont think that there is a person that can't relate to this song. The lyrics the mood, everything just brings you into this lovey dovey heart broken kind of mood and you can't stop listening to it!
